“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change…”

~Wayne Dyer

With their immense size and energy, horses demand our full attention. Yet their gentle, majestic nature has a way of helping us to soften into what is present. With this combination of awe and curiosity we are invited into this relationship where we might learn about ourselves, and who we are in relationship.

Horses have roamed the Earth for 55 billion years. Since about 4000BC, they have served their human companions in war, transportation, farming, sport and pleasure.  Their service to us has evolved with the call of the time and in many ways throughout history, horses have carried us into places that we could not have otherwise gone.

Today, with growing awareness, horses are being recognized as partners in the work of healing and personal growth.  In such program like Equine Therapy, and Equine Facilitated Learning and Coaching, horses offer their keen sense of energy, intelligence and willingness to be in partnership.   In their own true nature they provide us a unique opportunity for awareness and personal growth.

Much like other paths of experiential learning and deep healing, this work cannot be well explained, by conceptual thought.    Here we are invited into observation and personal experience where, with awareness and practice, we can open up to what is possible.   Working with horses can help us know better our inner most desire and our personal barriers.   Awareness of what all lies between us holds powerful potential to shift our perspective and our effect, changing our relationship to horses and others.   In learning how to remove barriors and connect to our own wisdom, horses invite us toward our highest potential as human beings in the world that we share.

“There is a language older by far and deeper than words.  It is the language of bodies, of body on body, wind on snow, rain on trees, wave on stone.  It is the language of dream, gesture, symbol, memory.  We have forgotten this language.  We do not even remember that it exists.”

~Derrick Jensen

SomaYoga Freedom Series

SomaYoga Freedom Series is progressive exploration of freedom that has been inspired by life with our horses.  This will be a small group therapeutic focus.  We will move, breathe and explore our way towards ease in body-mind and reconnect with our most natural self.  These are the qualities of freedom and connection that are exemplified so beautifully within our herd.

Classes will include practices of Somatics and Yoga as well as an exploration of neurobiology and the science of mind-body awareness and its affect on personal health and relationships.
